ASTN Shares Major Label Debut EP 'You're Almost There'

Today, rising R&B singer, songwriter, and producer ASTN establishes himself as a true musical force with the arrival of his confessional major label debut EP, You’re Almost There. The Los Angeles-based artist also released a captivating visual EP to go along with the music.
You’re Almost There is deeply personal and showcases ASTN’s soulful vocals and knack for writing lyrics both introspective and universal. Over five expertly crafted songs, he traces the phases of a split — from denial to reflection and self-improvement — but his message isn’t limited to matters of the heart.
“Almost is relative. Someone else’s ‘almost’ might not be the same as yours. That’s the mindset you have to have, even when you fall short a couple of times, or when you thought it was your time. Just know you’re almost there, regardless.”
The journey began in January with lead-off single “Gradually,” ASTN’s first single since with Warner Records. The pop-leaning track found ASTN in love’s immediate aftermath, capturing the desperation of a breakup, and leading into the gorgeous second track “Real” which showcases his vulnerability as he questioned whether love was even part of it. Together, the songs have racked up nearly 2 million Spotify streams to date.
Prior to the new EP, ASTN built a following via independently released projects such as Tell Your Friends (2017), Leave Me Before I Love You (2019), and IT’S NOT THAT SERIOUS last June. His “What if this song was R&B” remix series on social media showcased his progress as a boundary-pushing producer and garnered him a considerable following especially on TikTok. In November 2021, his R&B cover of Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever” amassed over 4 million TikTok views overnight and the track which was officially released on streaming platforms has garnered more than 60 million streams to date.
The cover highlighted ASTN’s ear for production, in particular R&B grooves, in an ever-changing, genre-blurring modern music world. In fact, he even managed to get the attention of Finneas O’Connell who co-wrote the chart topping track!
With You’re Almost There, ASTN is ready to introduce his truest self to his largest audience yet. “I just want that message to ring true,” he says. “You are almost there, whether ‘there’ is a million miles down the road or a couple feet ahead of you. I’m living proof of that.”
