Beyond posting up streams in the hundreds of millions, selling out tours, attracting millions of followers on social media, and earning critical acclaim, countless fan tattoos speak to the impact of Jake Miller. Fans proudly sport lyrics on their skin from “I’m Alright” and “A Million Lives,” among others. Quietly emerging as a magnetic pop presence on his own terms uplifted by world-class showmanship, no holds barred honesty, and dynamic delivery, Miller continues to inspire with a series of 2023 singles.

I’ve seen a lot of tattoos out there. I’ve touched on some deep topics and made lifelong fans who will be with me forever. The fact that my music is still reacting with them means so much to me.

Today the Florida-raised and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and producer releases his latest single titled “Note To Self.” The reflective piece kicks off simply with the guitar and Miller’s vocals. “A thousand bad nights when you thought you might drown. And I ain’t gon’ lie, there’s no easy way out. But note to self, it’s just a wave. Just keep fucking swimming for another day,” he sings with earnestness. Miller acknowledges that we may all have our bad days that come and go, but at the same time encourages the listener to go with the ebb and flow of life.

The production picks up on the chorus, placing emphasis on the message that Miller has for his fans. But it isn’t just the production that deserves praise. Special mention should be given to how lyrically empowering “Note To Self” is. The heart and soul that Miller put into this one, which he says will be the closing song on his upcoming tour, is palpable as it pumps through your speakers. So do yourself a favor and listen carefully to these lyrics, you might just find a thing or two you could relate to. Another favorite part of mine would definitely have to be the final chorus, where the swirling guitars remind me of Coldplay’s “Fix You.” I can already imagine how electrifying the atmosphere on tour will be when Miller gets to play “Note To Self” live!

Speaking of tour, the Note To Self Asia & U.S. Tour will be kicking off in Tokyo July 15 before starting its U.S. leg in Salt Lake City on September 13. Tickets are available here!

Shining brighter than ever on his new material, Jake ultimately uplifts once again, kicking off another chapter worthy of a tattoo or two!
