Multi-Platinum Certified singer, songwriter, and producer Jeremy Zucker’s much-anticipated new EP is nothing sacred?’ is out today. Zucker’s 5-track project includes his latest single “cindy” alongside previously released songs “OK” and “internet crush,” as well as new songs “i need you (in my life)” and “a dying world…

On the honest and reflective offering, Zucker looks both inwards and outwards and attempts to answer some of life’s important questions. He explains this via a recent Instagram post.

Latest single “cindy,” opens the EP as Zucker muses about the memories from a past relationship, whatever they are in present day and promising to treat them better. “cindy” makes for the perfect opening track, adopting the sonic stylings of Zucker’s music that fans are familiar with.

Introspective and emotionally charged track “OK” serves as a reminder to prioritize self-care and mental health in a world that can often be overwhelming and stressful. Zucker delivers a raw and honest performance as the song explores the feelings of uncertainty that many people experience on a daily basis.

I wrote this song as a way to connect with anyone who doesn’t feel ok, a way to let them know that I’m here. Everyone is going through something, and sometimes knowing that the person behind the song is there for you can be comforting and reassuring.

“internet crush” showcases Zucker’s signature storytelling powers, earmarked by his open-hearted vulnerability. Right out of the gate, he yearns, “how does one keep in touch? you’re my internet crush.” Gently plucked acoustic guitar echoes and his raw vocals resonate as he speaks directly and holds nothing back. “I wrote the song about the weird dichotomy that exists in the connection between isolation and intimacy within the context of the internet and the frustrations in trying to find a pure connection,” Zucker explains about this fan favorite.

Written and produced by Zucker himself, “i need you (in my life)” (a favorite here at Pop Nerd Lounge!) picks up the pace on the EP with its upbeat production. “i’d be okay if we could be friends one day, i need you in my life,” Zucker sings as the pace slows down before punching out into the final chorus where the production picks up once again with its striking drum beats at the forefront and a swirling guitar riff that ties it all together in the background.

when the air starts to make us sick, it’s not a matter of politics, somehow if we raise kids in a dying world, I hope they’ll learn to love better than us,” Zucker sings on “a dying world…,” perfectly echoing the current state of the world we live in. “wrote this song months ago, it’s never felt more suitable,” he writes on an Instagram story with clips of New York shrouded in haze as a result of the recent wildfires.

Zucker recently announced his 2023 North American tour dubbed is nothing sacred? The Tour, which goes on sale today at 10AM local time.
