Argentine superstar, rapper, singer and songwriter Nicki Nicole debuted the final installment of her new documentary this week, highlighting the most listened to album in Argentina, her third studio album ALMA. The release of the album has brought her explosive streaming count to 1.8 billion to date.

In this second chapter of El Documental de ALMA, following part one, the trailblazing 22-year-old talks the creation of her most versatile, authentic and personal project yet; an intimate mix of genres, sounds, and feelings, including her snappy smash “8AM” with Young Miko among other solo and collaboration standouts with Milo J and Rels B.

When I heard hip-hop for the first time, the 50 years of hip-hop alongside Tierre Whack, Hannibal Burress and others, I knew it was going to have a significant impact on my life. Listen to artists like Tupac, Biggie, and Mary J. Blige truly inspired me, and today their music helps me perfect my craft as an artist.

Traversing diverse musical territory on ALMA, the Harper’s Bazaar-cosigned ‘musical powerhouse’ combines imaginative reggaeton beats to irresistable electro-pop and velvety ballads, highlighting the FADER-deemed “dexterous shape-shifting MC”’s sonics with a matured, personal touch. The 10-tracks are a panoramic view of personal sanación — the Spanish word for healing. Nicki reveals how, after an emotional downturn, she was born anew. As much a concept album as it is a true story, ALMA — which translates to soul — centers on the connection between spirit, heart and mind. It’s represented by the recurring motif of a triangle, inside which all three components, when thoughtfully cultivated, can harmoniously coexist.
