Norwegian singer-songwriter Sigrid is back with a brand new release “The Hype,” her first since the release of her sophomore album How To Let Go last year. The track was written by Sigrid alongside Nick Hahn, and produced by Nick Hahn, Askjell Solstrand and Sigrid herself.

The essence of the song is a message that most creatives would be able to relate to. It’s that sense of self doubt that makes you question if you’ve did enough to live up to “The Hype.”

We’ve all been there, when you wonder if you’ve lived up to the expectations. I thought about the term Hype, in love and at work, and the questions you ask yourself of did you really live up to the hype.

“So I wrote a song about it!” she continues. “With my artist job, I’ve sometimes felt that I’ve tried to live up to myself in a way — but a version of myself that looks like me, but cooler, more confident and touring the world. I’ve probably brought that into my private life, and all those things is what Hype is about.”

Wrapping the song in ethereal melodies and bass, synth and drum heavy production, Sigrid shares that she loves how much strength in her vocals and the power of being vulnerable.

This track truly lives up to “The Hype” and we are excited to see where this new era brings Sigrid!
