Country's Rising Duo - Juna N' Joey
Making waves in the country scene at just 16 and 18 years old are country sibling duo Juna N’ Joey. Their latest single off their upcoming EP, “Something Good To Miss,” showcases the pair’s seamless harmonies and fresh songwriting abilities. We caught up with the duo about their travels, the single, and future plans for Juna N’ Joey.
Hi, guys! Thanks for taking the time to do this interview! So, it looks like you've been traveling a little bit this summer. Talk to me about some of your favorite places that you've been to!
Juna: We did a show in NYC which was amazing, and then we went to the Hamptons, which is always on our list for at least one weekend in the summer.
Joey: We also had a great time at the Jersey Shore at an iHeart event, and we were asked to come back for a bigger show soon, so that is amazing.
Your new single, "Something to Miss" has this beautiful balance of classic country with a modern dash of pop and modern country. What was something (i.e. good storytelling, catchy hook, certain production) that you had to absolutely have to have in this record?
Juna: For me, it's the guitar solo. Production-wise, I think it made the song much more interesting.
Joey: I love the lyrics "24/7 365, you're sneaking up, hanging out in my mind." For some reason, when I sing that line, it's so catchy to me. When you are really in love, it's true - you cannot forget that person.
If you had to put "Something Good to Miss" on a playlist what would it be?
Juna: I would say Spotify's Today's Top Hits playlist!
Joey: I'd say it would fit on any pop country playlist!
The song and visual for the single are going to be played in all the Old Red locations! What was your reaction to learning that news?
Juna: We were absolutely amazed!
Joey: We're very grateful!
What's something good you miss whenever you're away from home?
Juna: I miss my dogs and my friends.
Joey: I miss the comfort of my own bed and my routine.
Can you tease us with some future plans for Juna N' Joey that you have coming up?
Juna: We're going on tour in London as an opener for Twinnie.
Joey: We're working on some new music as well as some Christmas songs!
