UK’s rising pop-darling Griff releases a brand new single “One Night” via Warner Records. Although the record has its individual sonic sound from her previous singles, this unmistakably has her trademark gift of storytelling through music.

If there was a musical love child between the Weeknd’s “I feel it coming” and Whitney Houston’s “I want to dance with somebody (who loves me” it would be this banger of a track. The production ticks alls of the pop boxes with an addictive bass line, Griff’s sugary sweet vocals and those synths that give us 80s ear warm vibes.

’One Night’ is about feeling like you’re always carrying this darkness or burden. I think in the daytime we can feel distracted because we’re around people and we’re busy, but that moment between going to bed and falling asleep, there’s just enough silence for those burdens to get louder. Essentially this song is trying to understand why I can’t shake it, and the chorus comes to this breaking point of desperately wanting at least ‘One Night’ alone.

Griff had quite the 2021 so far. She made her US TV debut at Late Night With Seth Meyers, won the coveted ‘Rising Star’ award this year at the BRIT awards and recently she performed at the Team GB homecoming. It only looks like there’s an uphill trajectory for Griff and we can’t wait for more pop anthems we can blast.
