Jake Miller continues his releasing streak with "LAST TEXT." The single follows his other recent releases, "NERVOUS" and "OCEAN AWAY," all under the RED MUSIC label.

The fans, or The Millertary as they're affectionately known, fiercely support his new work. "NERVOUS" has over 300,000 streams on Spotify. Jake Miller gives the love back as he’s finding new ways to connect with his fans. He recently set up an Artist Number where fans can text him and receive updates on new music and what’s happening with Miller. "LAST TEXT" surely doesn't disappoint as it mixes and mingles different styles.

The song kicks off with Miller softly counting in. He creates a feeling like we're listening to this record in an intimate setting. The acoustic guitar riff is evocative of John Mayer's "Who Says" or One Direction's "Story of My Life." Miller's clever production can be heard at the 1:13 mark where he inserts a "text sent" sound effect. That careful attention to detail makes the song feel personable and that you're listening to a narrative between two people not just another saturated pop track on the charts. The transitions between soothing acoustic guitar and thundering drum fills are so seamless. It's the metaphorical bridge the protagonist crosses from missing the former lover to finally being ready to say goodbye to that person.

Speaking of a bridge, the bridge to this song is brilliant. The stacked vocals, which were created from isolated vocals from his friends is hauntingly beautiful. However, I think Becky, a fan in the Millertary, states it perfectly in the tweet below.

Everyone has had that feeling when you realize that the person is truly part of your past, not your present.

There might be a wait to hear a full-length album, but hearing these delectable audio goodies live on Jake's upcoming tour will be nothing short of explosive. "LAST TIME" is the earworm you blast in the car with your besties, kissing goodbye to the memories of a former flame. Luckily you don't have to break up with this catchy record.
