Today, multi-platinum artist MAX rings in his signing to Warner Records with his romantic new single “Butterflies,” an emotional collaboration with Canadian hitmaker Ali Gatie. If you are a fan of MAX’s then you will know about his breakthrough hit “Lights Down Low,” which he had written as a proposal to his then-girlfriend. “Butterflies” now serves as the sequel to the unforgettable track.

“Butterflies” was inspired by MAX’s decision to renew his wedding vows. “Essentially, it’s about falling deeper and deeper in love with my wife,” MAX says. With the song’s deeply personal subject matter it is fitting that the visual is similarly autobiographical. The heartwarming video celebrates the birth of a daughter as MAX, a new dad in real life, watches on proudly while she grows into a beautiful young woman. Ali Gatie describes the song as being a celebration of the beautiful journey of the long-lasting love we all hope to find, and he is honored to join MAX in telling this powerful story.

“Butterflies” is the tantalizing follow-up to MAX’s critically acclaimed project Colour Vision. The record arrived to glowing reviews in 2020 and found the hitmaker dabbling in Prince-inspired pop, hip-hop, and even a K-Pop duet with Suga of BTS. With that experimental approach and his incredible penchant for pop hooks, MAX has been able to connect with listeners all over the world, raking up more than 1.5 billion streams as an independent artist. As a major label artist with Warner Records, that audience is sure to grow alongside him!
