Get To Know Jaxon!
Jaxon may give off California vibes with his love for surfing, calm energy, and sunny disposition. Make no mistake, he is as eclectic, vibrant, and adventurous as his home base of Austin, Texas. Wearing many creative hats, Jaxon is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, rapper, and producer. He recently put out his single, “Ba Da Dum” which will be on his upcoming album, Lost N’ Found. We had a little chat with Jaxon about the single and his music.
You say, “Ba Da Dum” “is the realization and actualization of [you] wanting to be an artist.” What would you tell people who are still looking for that confirmation that the creative life is for them?
I’d tell them that they were born to live a creative life and that I’m not sure it’s even possible to not love a creative life so they might as well just lean into it and go chase what they love!
Would you say music is food for your soul?
100%. Music’s everything to me, I don’t know where I’d be without it.
What made you push through the beginning phase of learning how to make music (a phase where it’s so easy to quit)?
Hahaha, I don’t know honestly, I think about this a lot. For the longest time I was just doing it for fun so it never felt like I wanted to give up. I mean, it got hard for sure but I just enjoyed it so much that it just didn’t matter.
If you could have any artist feature on “Ba Da Dum” who would it be?
Mac Miller for sure.
Is music your reason to get up in the morning?
Yes!
Why did you decide to release this single amongst the other songs you’ve written?
This one is just special to me. It was time for me to get it out in the world and have that self-validation or actualization of me wanting to be an artist out into the universe.
