From Island Dreamer to Chart Topper - Rozee

This week in our “Songland” Mini Series, we have special guest, Rozee! What drew me into Rozee on the Leona Lewis episode was her openness and willingness to be adventurous with her song. She came into “Songland” with a heartbreak ballad pitch for Lewis. Ryan Tedder immediately heard something different. In his head, it was a Latin Pop record. Suddenly we see this transformation of heartbreak into a fun dance record that would be something new for Leona Lewis. Rozee ended up winning the episode, and since her song, “Solo Queiro (All I Want)” has reached number one on the Latin Billboard charts. We talk about her experience on the show, what it was like growing up on the island of St. Croix, and yes she gives a go at Song Association. Listen here!
