When I was searching for a piano bar for a future visit to Los Angeles, I stumbled upon Tramp Stamp Granny’s by default from being a former Glee devotee (the bar is owned by Darren Criss and his wife Mia). Not really knowing much about the bar, I looked up videos on YouTube. The next thing I found was an energetic and enthusiastic performer slaying Disney tunes one right after the other. The DisNerd in me rejoiced and I was immediately hooked. I found out the pianist’s name was Matt Fetbrandt.
Matt’s a Berklee College of Music alum, and his musical path has taken him around the country directing different musicals, cabarets and concerts. He can be seen regularly either at Tramp Stamp Granny’s or the exclusive Hollywood club, San Vicente Bungalows Clubhouse. This was probably one of my favorite episodes to date, simply because it felt like a fire side chat with a fellow creative.
